The Miami Dolphins are dealing with a new round of injuries. Dee Eskridge, a wide receiver, has been moved up from the practice squad to the 53-man roster after Braxton Berrios suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the last game against the Indianapolis Colts. Additionally, quarterback Tyler Huntley has been placed on injured reserve and defensive tackle Matt Dickerson has been signed to the practice squad.
Eskridge joined Miami’s practice squad at the end of August and has played in two games since then. He has seen 22 snaps as a wide receiver and three in the slot, catching one target for 30 yards.
Huntley hurt his throwing shoulder in the previous game and is now on injured reserve, which means he will be out for a minimum of four games. Teams are allowed to designate up to eight players for return from injured reserve during the season.
Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be back from injured reserve in time for Sunday’s game, with Skylar Thompson or Tim Boyle possibly serving as his backup. In addition, former 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard recently joined Miami’s practice squad.
Miami brought in Dickerson to provide depth on the defensive line after Zach Sieler, a key player in the trenches, was listed on the injury report with an eye issue. It was reported by NFL Network that he suffered an orbital bone fracture during practice and will not be playing against the Arizona Cardinals.
Dickerson has played in 36 games during his six-year NFL career, making 42 tackles and three sacks while playing for the Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, and Kansas City Chiefs.
