Donovan Mitchell & James Harden Recruiting LeBron to the Cavaliers?

The biggest story of this offseason will be if LeBron James moves to a different team, and by all reports the Cavaliers may be a legitimate option.

The 41-year-old definitely has a lot left in the tank, and finishing his career in Cleveland would be an absolute fairytale.

LeBron’s former Cavs teammate, Kendrick Perkins says Donovan Mitchell and newly acquired James Harden are already preparing a recruitment for the Ohio native this summer.

“My sources told me that Donovan Mitchell and James Harden already are starting the push to go and recruit LeBron James this offseason,” Perkins said on Road Trippin’. “I’m just telling you, my sources told me as soon as James Harden got on the phone or got around the team, the initial was we’re about to make this run, go all out, but we want LeBron James.”

In late January, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported the Cavaliers would “gladly welcome” James back this summer if he chooses to return for a third stint with the organization that drafted him,.

“Multiple team and league sources told ESPN the Cavaliers would gladly welcome James back this summer if he wanted to return to Cleveland for his 24th NBA season and third stint with the team,” McMenamin reported.

As well, Ashish Mathur of Cavaliers Nation reported similar sentiments just days later.

“James becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason for the first time since 2018. If the future Hall of Famer doesn’t retire from the NBA, the Cavaliers are expected to heavily pursue James in free agency, sources said.

“Cleveland acquired Harden from the Los Angeles Clippers in the blockbuster Darius Garland trade. Harden and Mitchell have relationships with James, who is open to leaving the Los Angeles Lakers for his hometown Cavaliers this offseason if he doesn’t retire, sources said.”

One thing is for sure, a Bron back to Cleveland move would feed NBA families for years to come.
