The Philadelphia Eagles have provided roster updates and injury news for their Week 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
WR A.J. Brown and LB Devin White are out for the game. WR Parris Campbell and WR John Ross have been elevated from the practice squad.
Teams can temporarily promote practice squad players up to three times in the regular season and an unlimited number of times in the postseason.
Let’s break down the news on each player:
A.J. BROWN
Brown was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report and has not played since Week 1. The Eagles will miss his presence.
DEVIN WHITE
White was not on the injury report this week and was listed with a “personal” designation. The Eagles may consider cutting or trading him soon.
PARRIS CAMPBELL
Campbell provides depth at wide receiver for the Eagles, especially with other players out. He has been maxed out on regular season practice squad elevations.
The Eagles may need to sign Campbell to the roster in the future. They hope to have other receivers back in action after the Week 5 bye.
JOHN ROSS
Ross brings his experience and speed to the Eagles’ receiving corps. He will join Campbell and other receivers on the active roster for the game.
The Eagles need to make their WR situation work for this game.
(Note: Ross is wearing No. 38, which is a change from his previous No. 83. This may provide a psychological edge against the Bucs.)
LANE JOHNSON
Lane Johnson, originally questionable like Brown, is not ruled out yet. Reports suggest he may start at right tackle.
