Caitlin Clark led the Indiana Fever to a big 2024 season. Clark, a rookie in 2024, earned the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award while leading Indiana to the postseason. So how will Clark play in 2025?
Will the rest of the league be more prepared for Clark and find a way to contain her? Will she take the next step forward and earn serious MVP consideration? Without further ado, here are three early Caitlin Clark predictions for the 2025 WNBA season.
Caitlin Clark finds her three-point shooting efficiency
As good as Clark was in 2024, she was not incredibly efficient with her three-point shot. She shot 34.4 percent from beyond the arc while averaging 8.9 three-point attempts per outing. That means she connected on just 3.1 of her 8.9 attempts from three-point range.
In all reality, Clark’s three-point shooting wasn’t terrible. She made plenty of big shots for the Fever. However, she surely wants to be more efficient from deep. Clark entered her rookie season fresh off a long college basketball season. She will enter 2025, though, fresh off a long offseason, meaning she has had plenty of time to work on her three-point shooting.
It would not be surprising to see Clark shoot 37 percent or better from deep during the 2025 campaign.
Clark’s presence leads Fever to make important in-season trade
There have been plenty of trade and free agency rumors throughout the offseason, with the Fever being linked to a number of stars. Perhaps Indiana will add another star, but it could happen during the season.
If Clark plays well and the Fever display signs of becoming a true contender, Indiana will probably be aggressive before the in-season trade deadline. It remains to be seen who they will acquire, or who will even be available, but look for the Fever to add another star alongside Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston.
Fever fall just short of WNBA Finals appearance
The Fever are poised to take the next step from a contending standpoint. They were eliminated in the first round of the 2024 postseason, but the Fever should be able to make a deep postseason run in 2025. However, they are not quite ready to compete for a championship yet.
As a result, our prediction is that Caitlin Clark and the Fever will fall just a game or two short of clinching a WNBA Finals appearance. Still, reaching the semifinals would be an impressive accomplishment for the team.
