To mark International Day of the Girl (11 October), we’re teaming up with our partners, the British Army, to celebrate two amazing women inspiring the next generation.
Aligned with this year’s theme – “Girls’ Vision for the Future” – the British Army champions diversity and inclusion, encouraging women to explore a wide variety of roles.
With a focus on equal pay, equal opportunities and equal expectations, the Army creates a supportive environment where women can thrive and pave the way for future generations – just like Major Rebecca Glover and Officer Jo Vann.
Major Rebecca Glover combines her love of netball with a career as an Army doctor.
After starting her journey through the Officer Training Corps at Sheffield University, she credits netball with helping to break down barriers and build strong bonds within the Army.
Beyond netball, she is preparing for an ambitious challenge: rowing across the Atlantic as part of an all-female Army team to inspire and promote women in sport.

Meanwhile, Officer Jo Vann is no stranger to trailblazing.
Jo was part of the Team Bath Netball side that won the first-ever Netball Super League title.
More recently, she travelled to Fiji with the Army Air Corps netball team to play, coach and connect with the Fijian community.
