England Netball is delighted that the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has today confirmed that netball will be included within the sporting programme for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, set to be held in Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
Glasgow 2026 will feature a 10-sport programme which, along with netball, will feature Athletics and Para Athletics (Track & Field), Swimming and Para Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling, Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, Boxing, Bowls, Para Bowls and 3×3 Basketball and 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball.
Speaking after the announcement, England Netball CEO Fran Connolly said: “We’re delighted that netball has been included within the sporting programme for Glasgow 2026. It’s such fantastic news for our players and for all the fans who will get to enjoy incredible netball so close to home.
“The Commonwealth Games has given our sport such wonderful moments in years gone by. I don’t think anybody will ever forget 2018 and that last second goal which inspired so many people to get behind our Roses and get involved in the sport. Ever since we’ve enjoyed record growth in participation and engagement and we’re so excited to have the opportunity to do this all over again in Glasgow.”
This will be the eighth time that netball has been included within the Commonwealth Games having first been introduced in 1998.
