How will the winners be decided?

Given that this is a brand-new series, we’ve summarised the key information that you need to know about how the trophy will be awarded before watching!

As we know, the Vitality Netball Horizon Series will comprise of four matches. The winning team of each individual match will be awarded one ‘win’, and the losing team will not receive any ‘wins’. Should a match finish in a draw, the ‘win’ will be split among both teams, with each receiving half a ‘win’.

The winner of the series will be the team with the most ‘wins’ at the end of the four matches. Should the number of ‘wins’ for the series be level between the two teams, the team with the highest total aggregate score across all four matches will be declared series winners. Each team’s total aggregate score is calculated by combining the total number of goals scored by the team across the four matches in the series.

In future years of the competition, if the total aggregate score is tied, the previous year’s winners of the Vitality Netball Horizon Series will be declared the winners and retain the trophy, but should this first-ever series be a tie, or there be no previous Vitality Netball Horizon Series winner, the series will be declared a draw and the trophy will be shared.
