According to sources speaking with The Athletic, ABC/ESPN is set to replace JJ Redick in the lead broadcast booth with Grant Hill, Richard Jefferson, Tim Legler, and Jay Bilas. They are rumored to join Mike Breen and Doris Burke in the booth.
Following the 2022-2023 season, ESPN let go of Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson, bringing in Burke and Doc Rivers as replacements. When Rivers left in January to coach the Milwaukee Bucks, Redick was promoted. Redick left ESPN after the 2023-2024 season to coach the Los Angeles Lakers.
Hill is currently tied to a contract with TNT Sports, where he covers the lead Final Four team and NBA games.
Bilas is seen as a long shot for the position.
While Jefferson was initially passed over for Redick, he is seen as having a promising future with ESPN.
Legler has been a part of the ESPN team for years and has been receiving more praise in recent times.
