The 10 round main event featured the showdown between former WBC super featherweight world champion Miguel ‘El Alacran’ Berchelt (41-3, 36 KOs) and Mauro Alex Hasan (16-10-1, 8 KOs) of Argentina. The event took place on Saturday night at the Plaza de Toros La Esperanza in Merida, Yucatán, Mexico. Berchelt, a southpaw, demonstrated his fighting spirit early on by landing some powerful right hooks on the former champ. The momentum shifted in round seven when Berchelt connected with a short left hook that dropped Hasan to the canvas. Despite beating the count, Hasan seemed visibly affected by the punch. In round eight, Hasan had a point deducted for his mouthpiece falling out, after being warned by the referee multiple times earlier in the bout. Berchelt aggressively pursued a knockout in the final two rounds, but Hasan put up a resilient fight. The last minute saw both fighters exchanging heavy blows. Ultimately, Beltran emerged victorious with the official scorecards reading 98-90, and 97-91 twice, all in favor of him. With three consecutive wins, Berchelt is now eyeing another title shot.
