Fall marathon training is officially underway and our Chicago athletes are finding themselves in some heavy humidity as the double digit long runs begin. Heat acclimation is a tricky thing but very important, as the fall months don’t always bring cooler temps.

While there are many factors that you can control on race day – Wearing clothing and shoes that are familiar, practicing with hydration and fuel, and layering on anti-chafe gel, you can’t control the weather. Chicagoan’s are no strangers to 100 degree days in October and 20 degree days in May. So, get out there and build on the heat training just in case.
