Tom Aspinall is set to defend his interim UFC Heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 this month on July 27, 2024.
Aspinall became interim champion in the absence of Jon Jones, who had suffered an injury. This led to the dissolution of Jones’ planned title defense against Stipe Miocic.
Despite Miocic and Jones being inactive, the promotion is moving forward with the fight. Daniel Cormier has predicted a potential fan revolt if UFC 304 goes in a certain way.
Cormier speculates on a scenario where Aspinall defeats Blaydes convincingly, leading to a demand for a fight against Jon Jones.
If Aspinall emerges victorious and dominant in his fight against Blaydes, there could be a strong push for a matchup with Jones.
Blaydes is the only fighter to have beaten Aspinall in his UFC career so far. Their previous fight ended abruptly due to an injury suffered by Aspinall.
