Fans in Disbelief After WNBA Team Gets Troubling News on Wednesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
With the WNBA season now in full swing, fans have gotten a good idea about which teams will be serious contenders for the championship this year, as well as which sides are potentially headed to the draft lottery.

At the same time, there are also a fair number of teams that have been stuck in mediocrity thus far.
This includes the Phoenix Mercury, who haven’t exactly had a bad start to the season after going 5-3. However, it’s also not as if this team has impressed the fans with their excellent play early in the campaign.
Unfortunately for the Mercury, they dealt with some unfortunate news on Wednesday. This comes in the form of Phoenix missing no less than four players for their game against the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday.
According to the team’s injury report, Alyssa Thomas, Kahleah Copper, Natasha Mack and Megan McConnell have all been ruled out already due to respective injuries. Sami Whitcomb has also been added to the injury report, but the two-time WNBA champion guard has been listed as probable to play.

Thomas (left calf) and Copper (left knee) are the two big ones here as Phoenix’s two All-Stars continue to remain out while nursing injuries.
Fans were pretty much left in disbelief after learning about Phoenix’s unfortunate situation.
“Wtf is going on?????? I don’t like this at all” a comment on X read.
“this is crazy man and megan just got signed and injured last night wtf,” said another.
“Five out? Goodness,” a user wrote.

“PLEASE we add another person after every game 😢” a reaction read.
“This is just getting silly at this point,” another said.
“Idk how much i can take 🧎🏽♀️” a fan admitted.
Unfortunately for the Sun, they have no choice but to try to get a win on Thursday with a significant part of their roster sidelined.

Phoenix gets just one day off before it returns to action on Saturday against the Seattle Storm. At this point, fans can only hope for better news on the injury front ahead of the weekend matchup.
