FaZe Esports parent company GameSquare has appointed Amaree Tanawong as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Tanawong brings nearly two decades of experience in financial and operational strategy across digital media and entertainment companies, including Yahoo!, Meow Wolf, and YouTube.

Equipped with an MBA in Finance/Strategy, Amaree Tanawong started out in 2002 as a Transaction Advisory Services Consultant for Ernst and Young LLP.
Throughout her career, Tanawong spent over seven years at Yahoo! in various finance and business operations roles. She was also the Director/Global Head of Strategy and Operations at YouTube BrandConnect, the company’s influencer marketing platform, for more than four years.
Her most recent role was Vice President of Strategic Finance and Operations at entertainment provider Meow Wolf.
According to the official press release, Tanawong’s new role at GameSquare will focus on cross-platform strategic planning, operational scalability and financial performance analytics across the company’s assets.
“Amaree adds deep strategy and operating leadership to GameSquare at an important stage in our growth,” commented Justin Kenna, Chief Executive Officer of GameSquare.
“Her appointment, alongside our recent internal promotions and leadership additions, reflects our continued focus on strengthening GameSquare’s executive team as we scale our business.”
GameSquare’s Media Conglomerate
Based in Texas, US, GameSquare Holdings Inc. is a media, entertainment and technology company founded in 2020.
As a digital-native business, GameSquare has a network of esports, gaming and media subsidiaries. Most notably, the conglomerate owns North American esports and gaming organisation FaZe Clan Esports.
Other GameSquare subsidiaries include esports agency Code Red, streaming data platform Stream Hatchet and marketing agency Zoned Gaming.
Last year, GameSquare also doubled down on its crypto strategy with a $250m(~£186.2m) investment in NFT and DeFi Yields, as well as several crypto and web3 partnerships.
