Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has announced that the upcoming Formula 1 United States Grand Prix will see the Scuderia’s final upgrade for the season.
Despite the focus on the battle between Red Bull and McLaren, Ferrari remains in contention for the constructors’ championship, with a 75-point gap between them and McLaren with seven rounds left.
Vasseur confirmed that an update package will be implemented at the Circuit of the Americas, with the team then shifting focus to next year’s car.
“We have already started development on the next car and will aim to introduce small upgrades at the upcoming race,” he said.
“This will likely be the final upgrade for us and other teams. With the competition being so tight in the last few races, every bit of improvement counts.”
In the Singapore Grand Prix, Ferrari faced challenges with Leclerc’s struggles in qualifying and Sainz crashing out. They opted for different strategies, with Sainz finishing in seventh and Leclerc in fifth.

Vasseur explained the decision to split strategies, emphasizing the importance of track position during the race.
“Starting on the medium tires gave us flexibility and allowed us to extend our stint. It was a good strategic choice given the circumstances,” he said.
Additionally, splitting the cars for different pit stop strategies proved to be the right call, with both drivers performing well based on their positions in the race.
