The Indiana Fever shared highlights of Caitlin Clark’s impressive passing plays from throughout the season following her outstanding performance on Wednesday night.
During a game against the Dallas Wings, Clark set a new WNBA single-game record with 19 assists. She also contributed 24 points and grabbed six rebounds while shooting 10-19 from the field.
After the game, the former Iowa standout mentioned that her focus was on setting up her teammates in the paint, particularly 2023 Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston.
“I strive to create opportunities for my teammates,” Clark stated to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou. “Sometimes I might overpass… especially with AB, I always try to set her up. I always keep my eyes on our post players.”
Following her incredible performance, Clark increased her assists average to 8.2 per game and currently leads the league in this category. As the top pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, she has been steadily improving throughout her debut season, averaging 17.1 points with shooting percentages of 40.5/32.7/89.1.
Throughout her short time in the league, she has broken multiple single-game records, including achieving the first triple-double by a rookie in WNBA history on July 6. Indiana’s performance has also picked up after a slow start, currently holding onto the No. 7 seed with a record of 11-15.
Clark will aim to help the Fever bounce back and secure a win in their upcoming game against the Phoenix Mercury on Friday. The game is set to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
