As well as continuing to oversee the Goodyear FIA ETRC’s sporting and technical regulations, the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, will take a more hands-on approach in running the championship.

From now on, the FIA will directly manage areas such as strategic partnerships, calendar development, circuit relations, competitor engagement and paddock operations. The move is aimed at strengthening the championship’s long-term growth, covering areas from sporting level to media exposure and sustainability.

This marks a new chapter in the history of the ETRC after nearly a decade of ETRA Promotion GmbH’s tenure as promoter of Europe’s premier truck racing competition.

Following the call for Expressions of Interest issued last June, the FIA appointed new partners who will work alongside the federation to drive the championship’s development and growth.

Ignacio Fernandez, FIA Truck Racing Commission President, said: “Truck racing is unique in many areas. It features some of the most powerful vehicles in FIA circuit racing, enjoys a dedicated fanbase, strong links to the road haulage industry and a growing focus on sustainability. At the FIA, we believe truck racing has significant potential, and in this new chapter, together with our partners, our aim is to unlock that opportunity.”

TECHNOLOGY AND LIVE EVENTS SPECIALIST DEEPENS INVOLVEMENTWige, a leading provider of media, technology and communication solutions for sport and live events, will deepen its long-standing involvement with the championship.

Under a new agreement with the FIA, the German company will continue to deliver live coverage of all race weekends, including broadcast production, multi-livestreaming, live timing and graphics services. To do so it will deploy modern remote production workflows, enhancing broadcast quality across all events while enabling more efficient and sustainable operations.

In addition, in collaboration with the FIA, Wige will be responsible for the series’ digital and media operations, overseeing editorial and technical delivery across the official Goodyear FIA ETRC website and social media channels, with the objective of further strengthening the championship’s international media presence.

A central pillar of the partnership is the Wige Atmosphere Media Cloud, which brings together more than 15,000 hours of Goodyear FIA ETRC content from 2021 to the present day. The platform provides media and series’ stakeholders with access to race footage, interviews, highlights and archive material for editorial, marketing and social media use.

Through this new collaboration, the FIA and Wige are laying foundations to further enhance the championship’s media footprint in 2026 and sustainably expand its visibility both on and off the track.

Wige CEO Kai O. Houben said: “The Goodyear FIA ETRC is powerful, authentic and thrilling. With our expertise in live production, multi-livestreaming, content services and digital platforms, we are committed to bringing this excitement to life and reaching new audiences.”

PROVEN PARTNERS REMAIN ONBOARDThe FIA will enter this new era for truck racing with the support of the championship’s established partners.

Title partner and exclusive tyre supplier Goodyear has extended its long-standing commitment until at least the end of the 2027 season.

TotalEnergies, which since 2021 has supplied the ETRC with 100% sustainable biodiesel, making it the first FIA competition to switch to fully sustainable biofuel, also continues its support of the series.

Italian manufacturer IVECO, which last year introduced its electric S-eWay as the official Goodyear FIA ETRC pace truck, also remains a key partner.

Together, these collaborations highlight the commitment shared by the FIA and its partners to sustainability in truck racing.

Goodyear Head of Brand and Value Proposition Marketing Davide Califano said: “After several years of positive and sustained growth, the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship enters a new phase under the FIA’s direction. As a long-standing partner, Goodyear is proud to be part of this new chapter and looks forward to further strengthening the championship together with the FIA, the teams and all stakeholders.”

MARK BLUNDELL’S AGENCY NAMED TO DRIVE COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIPS FOR FIAMBP, founded and led by former Formula 1 driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Mark Blundell, has been appointed as the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship’s commercial agent. Leveraging its expertise in relationship-driven sports marketing, MBP will support the development of new strategic commercial partnerships.

MBP Founder Mark Blundell said: “The FIA has been a constant part of my racing career, so to work with them now in a commercial capacity through my sports marketing agency ‘MBP’, is something I’m genuinely proud of. The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship has significant potential, and we’re excited to forge value driven partnerships to support the growth of the championship and take it to the next level.”

NEW CHAPTER BUT FAMILIAR VENUESAs announced last year, the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC season will comprise seven events, beginning in late May at Misano in Italy, followed by rounds in Slovakia, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium and France, before October’s season finale in Spain.

All venues are long-standing fixtures on the championship calendar, reflecting the series’ strong ties with Europe’s most popular and traditional truck racing circuits.

Misano World Circuit Managing Director Andrea Albani said: “Over the years, we have observed the evolution of truck racing and have appreciated the continuous efforts to develop this sector, particularly the strong focus on sustainability. We are confident that the new ETRC structure will continue to experiment and make this championship a major laboratory for the mobility of the future. We look forward to hosting the opening round of the 2026 season at Misano World Circuit as part of the great reunion of the transport supply chain.”

Two-time ETRC title winner Antonio Albacete said: “With the FIA taking full control of the championship from 2026, we’re entering a new chapter. Change always brings challenges, but also great opportunities, and I’m confident this new structure can be exciting and ultimately beneficial for the teams, drivers, partners and, most importantly, the fans.”
