A’ja Wilson has the perfect response to the South Carolina Gamecocks securing their spot at the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament.
Las Vegas Aces star A’Ja Wilson gave her college team, the South Carolin Gamecocks, a huge shoutout as they won their way to the Final Four Stage of this season’s tournament.
“Final Fo,” Wilson said on Instagram.
The South Carolina Gamecocks secured a hard-fought 54-50 victory over Duke in the Elite Eight to advance to their fifth consecutive Final Four. The Gamecocks started strong, leading 16-10 after the first quarter, but Duke fought back in the third quarter, taking a 42-38 lead.
South Carolina responded with an impressive fourth-quarter performance, scoring the first eight points to regain control and ultimately seal the win. The Gamecocks’ defense played a pivotal role, forcing 19 Duke turnovers and holding them to just 32% shooting from the field.
A’ja Wilson played for the South Carolina Gamecocks during her college career from 2014 to 2018. She was a standout player, leading the team to their first NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship in 2017.
Wilson’s incredible performances earned her numerous accolades, including being named National Player of the Year in 2018 and becoming the Gamecocks’ all-time leading scorer with 2,389 points. Her legacy at South Carolina is celebrated, with her jersey retired and a statue erected in her honor outside the Colonial Life Arena.

This initiative was part of 2K Games’ commitment to fostering opportunities for young athletes and creating spaces where they can thrive. The court’s unveiling was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Wilson, members of the Boys and Girls Club, and representatives from 2K Games.
