Football Manager 25 Release is approaching, but not as quickly as anticipated.
There has been an update on FM25, and unfortunately, it’s not the news fans were hoping for. The release has been slightly delayed to the end of November, with a few features being removed to ensure the best possible game.
Starting with the disappointing news, FM25 will now be released at the end of November instead of the anticipated early November date. While this may only be a three-week delay at most, it is a shame for those who enjoy recreating real events close to the January window.
International Management is Gone, for now
With the game transitioning to a new Unity game engine, some features had to be cut to save time. Only 4% of PC players used the International Management feature, making it an obvious choice for removal.
However, it is expected to return in the future with more enhancements. The team aims to improve this feature significantly.

New Engine, new beginning?
A significant hint was dropped with the release of FM24, suggesting that FM25 will mark a new direction for the series, possibly as a “live service” with yearly updates and potential smaller DLCs.
Transitioning to the Unity Engine for FM25’s graphics package is seen as a positive move. Further details will be shared in a future post, as testing is set to begin at the Sports Interactive offices in England.
Update September 5th – A statement was made regarding the Women’s league in FM25:
“After establishing the Women’s Football database, we observed that female athletes’ weight fluctuates more than males’ on a weekly basis. As a result, weight will no longer be displayed for players in FM25, though basic measurements will still be retained.”
After being announced in 2021, Women’s football will be included in FM25 with dedicated staff hired for research and development. This marks a significant addition to the game, integrated within FM25 rather than a standalone title.
Stay tuned for more details in the official gameplay reveal expected towards the end of September.
