Sauber is undergoing structural changes as it transitions into Audi, with the appointment of new staff and the creation of new roles within the organization.
One of the key appointments is Giampaolo Dall’Ara, who will now serve as the Head of Race Engineering, overseeing operations at both the Hinwil headquarters and at the racetrack. This move aims to align all car performance-related topics and integrate the Race Engineering department into the Technical Group for a cohesive approach.
Dall’Ara brings a wealth of motorsport experience to the role, having worked with Alfa Romeo DTM team and Sauber Motorsport in various capacities in the past. His expertise will drive race performance optimization and collaboration within the Technical Group.
In addition, Ignacio “Inaki” Rueda joins the team as the new Sporting Director, taking over from Beat Zehnder, who will transition to a new role as Director of Signature Programs and Operations from 2025 onwards.
Rueda has held senior positions in teams like Jordan, Renault, Lotus F1, and Ferrari, where he served as Sporting Director. In his new role, he will oversee all sporting activities and manage relationships with the FIA and regulation matters trackside.
After decades of service to Sauber Motorsport, Beat Zehnder will focus on new areas of the business as Director of Signature Programs and Operations. Zehnder’s influence has been pivotal in shaping the team’s development and representing it with the FIA, and he will continue to uphold the team’s values and drive innovation in his new role.
Zehnder will supervise the transition into the new organizational structures to ensure the continued growth and success of Sauber Motorsport in the future.
