Former Gamecock Kamilla Cardoso, and current Chicago Sky center, concluded her first season in the WNBA by being named to the 2024 WNBA All-Rookie Team.
Cardoso was chosen alongside her Chicago Sky teammate Angel Reese, New York Liberty forward Leonie Fiebich, LA Sparks forward Rickea Jackson, and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. This group of rookies, led by Reese and Clark, has been celebrated as one of the greatest rookie classes in WNBA history, further highlighting Cardoso’s selection.
Despite early season injuries, Cardoso posted averages of 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 52% from the field in her 32 games as a rookie.
With her impressive debut season, Cardoso continues to solidify her status as one of the standout players from the Dawn Staley era at Columbia.
