One of the WNBA’s former top picks had a message for fans regarding Caitlin Clark this week.
Speaking on the way teams defend the former Iowa superstar, ex-All-Star center Kelsey Bone-Smith offered her thoughts on Clark’s game— arguing that opponents in the W doesn’t see her as much of a threat.

“Folks get on here & act like being guarded 94 ft is a compliment! It’s not,” Bone exclaimed. “If a team is picking up one player 94ft ALL GAME it means the scouting report says that player doesn’t like pressure/contact, is slow, or can’t dribble.”
Needless to say her comments weren’t well-received.
“I ain’t ever in my life heard that getting picked up 94 ft…ALL GAME & EVERY GAME…is because you a bad player lmfaooo what??” a fan asked.
“being #1 on the scouting report every game means you’re not a good player. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 bruh these old wnba players are dumb no wonder y’all couldn’t grow this league,” a user said. “Y’ALL DONT KNOW [EXPLETIVE] ABOUT THE SPORT YOU PLAY!!!”

“Saw this yesterday and wanted to think on it out of respect to an actual professional athlete saying it, and after thinking this further proves my point that just because someone plays the game doesn’t meant they automatically know more than others,” another posted. “This is blatantly wrong.”
“We talking bout a starting all star point guard, wnba assist leader, mvp top 3 finisher, being slow or can’t dribble.”
“Many reasons for full-court pressure, but one primary reason to press full-court is like punching to the body in boxing,” a coach pointed out. “It’s not about the quick knockout blow (turnovers), but the accumulation over time, wearing down an opponent. Fatigue causes mistakes.”
