Dorka Juhasz was named to the 2023 WNBA All-Rookie team after a strong season for the Minnesota Lynx, then saw little break as she continued to play professionally in the United States and Europe for two straight years.
Now, with the WNBA season about to start, Juhasz has decided to take a break.

The Lynx announced on May 10 that the former UConn star has decided not to play for Minnesota in the coming season so she can focus on resting.
“The Minnesota Lynx today announced today that Dorka Juhász will miss the 2025 WNBA season,” the team noted in a press release. “Juhász, currently playing in the Italian league finals with Famila Schio, plans to rest and recover after playing year-round for the last two years.”
Kent Youngblood of the Minnesota Star Tribune reported that the 6-foot-5 center from Hungary will remain in Europe after the Italian League finals conclude, where she will spend time recovering from a long stretch with no breaks. Youngblood added that the Lynx can likely fill the void in the frontcourt as they have some strong depth behind starting center Alanna Smith.

The team just added French center Mariene Badiane and will get Jessica Shepard back after she took a year off as well.
Juhasz joined the Lynx as a second-round pick in 2023, averaging 5.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game through her first two seasons in Minnesota. She and teammate Diamond Miller were both named to the WNBA All-Rookie team after the 2023 season.
