Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark has been the talk of the WNBA since making her debut last season. She averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game on her way to winning Rookie of the Year honors and finishing in the top five of MVP voting.

But while Clark grabbed most of the headlines, not everyone was happy with how much attention she received. Former Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter was having a strong season herself, putting up 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Things boiled over on June 1, when the Sky fell to the Fever 71-70. After the game, Carter, who was Angel Reese’s teammate at the time, was asked about the flagrant foul she picked up for knocking Clark to the ground during an inbound play.

“I ain’t answering no Caitlin Clark questions,” Carter replied.

These days, Carter isn’t even in the WNBA. After hitting free agency and failing to land a deal with another WNBA team, she took her talents to a different league, signing with the Mexican Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Femenil (LNBPF).

Now playing for Adelitas de Chihuahua, Carter had a strong debut, posting a double-double with 16 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists. Her squad knocked off Panteras de Aguascalientes, 89-73, on Wednesday.

Carter was drafted fourth overall by the Atlanta Dream in 2020 after three seasons at Texas A&M. The 26-year-old spent two seasons in Atlanta before moving on to play one season with the Los Angeles Sparks and another with the Sky.
