One of the more controversial versions of the recent season is coming back for Fortnite Chapter 6, Medallions. The boss loot hasn’t been done away with like Augments but made a return this time. Although, they’re here in a slightly reduced form compared to the past.
As in past Fortnite seasons, tracking down these medallions is going to be a key part of getting wins in Chapter 6 Season 1. There’s less of them on the map than ever though. These have some of the most powerful uses we’ve seen, but they’re going to be rarer. If you want to track one down every game, these are the new Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions and how to find them:
New Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions
At the moment, there are only two Medallions on the map! If you’ve noticed fewer of those pesky yellow circles all over the mini-map, it’s because they’re in shorter supply. On top of that, both are also quite a bit harder to obtain this season. You won’t be running around all game curb-stomping with your medallion power right now.
These are the two Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions that are in play at the moment:
Wandered Medallion
The first Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallion is quite powerful, but a bit inconvenient. It’s dropped by Shogun X. The mini-boss. However, this isn’t a normal POI mini-boss in Chapter 6 like those in the last Chapter.
Shogun X doesn’t spawn at a POI at the start of the game like we’re used to. He’s replaced the Rift-In Loot Lake-house POI. Now, a collection of floating islands rift in, on the largest is Shogun X. An even bigger form of the samurai you see wandering the map. This one is a bit harder to take down too.
Finishing off Shogun X isn’t the hardest, but it’ll be slightly longer than most bosses. The main issue is getting third parties. Coming so far into the game, this is a problem. People can easily get up, and easily wait to finish you off. You’ll likely need to survive a fight again afterward to claim it.
Once you do get the Wanderer Medallion, it’s a pretty strong item. It grants infinite spring, and invisibility while sprinting. It’s a dangerous combo. Factor in the better moves for the blade Fortnite weapon when sprinting and it’s an effective set of tools.
Night Rose Medallion
The second Fortnite Chapter 6 medallion is a bit different. This one is more traditional, it’s with a boss at the start of the game. However, it’s also no cake walk.
The boss fight for the Night Rose Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions is long. You’ll find it at Demon’s Dojo POI. A spot with some chests, but not really enough to take on third parties, the ghost NPC enemies that constantly spawn, and the boss.
Enter the raised hall at the end of the POI to start this fight. Initially, it’s against the Night Rose Fortnite Chapter 6 skin. Then a giant Oni face comes out. Do enough damage to that, and he’ll use Night Rose as a puppet. Despite how it looks, you can’t damage her here. You need to shoot out the mask’s glowing eyes. Then the puppet will drop. She’ll come at you with a blade melee attack, but deal damage then. After a short while it’s back to the puppet to repeat. This can get long if you’re not damaging the boss enough while off the strings. It’s also incredibly loud.
The fireballs the boss sends out will eventually level the surrounding area. You need to finish this fight quickly if you don’t want to attract any nearby players. The eventual medallion makes your weapons constantly reload, which is useful. Especially for the Oni Shotgun, which seems designed to have too few shots this season.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions
Those are the two Fortnite Chapter 6 medallions at the moment! Although, we could get more in the future depending on how future Fortnite patch notes go. Both are definitely worth carrying, but you have a bit more of a challenge getting your hands on them this time.
