From Lotto to Joma: Siniakova opens 2025 with new apparel sponsor

Doubles world No. 1 Katerina Siniakova sported the Joma logo on her tennis attire during her first-round match against Iga Swiatek at the Australian Open, signaling a fresh start with a new sponsor. This move highlights that Elise Mertens isn’t the only WTA player parting ways with Lotto early in 2025.

Joma, a brand with a longstanding but understated presence in women’s tennis, is taking steps to solidify its position in the market. Historically, Joma’s designs have leaned towards classic styles, often favoring functionality over flair. This approach meant their players rarely stood out in the competitive world of tennis fashion.

Last year, Joma faced a significant setback when Beatriz Haddad Maia moved to Asics, leaving the brand without a Top 20 player. Despite this loss, the brand still boasts a strong presence on the WTA Tour. Alongside their latest addition, Katerina Siniakova, Joma’s ambassadors now include Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, Marie Bouzkova, Magda Linette, and Sara Sorribes Tormo.
