Gina Carano, after a period of silence, has provided a significant update on her lawsuit against Disney.
Transitioning from the world of mixed martial arts to the big screen, Carano has enjoyed success in her acting career. Despite starring in popular movies and TV shows, the journey has not been without its challenges.
Earlier this year, Elon Musk and his social media platform X supported Carano in her dispute with Disney. Musk encouraged her to take legal action against Disney for the mistreatment she experienced from the company.
Now, months after initiating the lawsuit, the actress has shared another major development in the case.
“After the judge refused Disney’s request to dismiss my case, Disney sought permission to appeal the decision to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and halt all discovery during the appeal. Yesterday, October 16, 2024, we found out that the Judge denied Disney’s request,” Carano informed her followers on X.
“I am delighted to be able to continue with the legal process and move into discovery.”
“While I wish this legal battle was unnecessary, I am committed to standing up for what is right, even if it is challenging.”
