Round seven of the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship saw plenty of goals, with Stirling University and Renfrew Ladies making significant moves in the table while East Fife extended their lead at the top.
Stirling University dominated their match against Morton, with Ann Taylor scoring twice and goals from Kelise Aitchison, Amy Bruce, and Olivia McHarg securing a 5-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Stenhousemuir, last season’s League One champions, struggled against Renfrew, conceding an own goal and Sinead Macleod scoring twice, along with goals from Michaela Brown, Emma Baird, and SammyJo Smith in a 6-1 win for Renfrew Ladies.
Hutchison Vale took an early lead with a goal from Marrimar Hassoun, but East Fife responded with a penalty converted by Chloe Guppy, followed by goals from Teri Skivington (who also scored a hat-trick), Harriet Anderson, Juliana Bennet Luna, and Lauren Healy resulting in a 7-1 victory.
Yasmin McCagh secured a hat-trick for Forfar Farmington in a 3-0 win over Westdyke, while Bella Viana scored twice for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a 2-0 victory against Dryburgh Athletic.
In the late match, Aimee Docherty’s last-minute equalizer salvaged a point for Falkirk against Glasgow Girls, keeping them in second place. Glasgow had a lead with goals from Angyl Learmonth and Brooke Shields, but Olivia Murphy and Docherty’s goals leveled the score.
With Renfrew and Inverness Caley Thistle both on 13 points, they are four points behind leaders East Fife.
Clydebank Ladies secured a 3-2 victory over Bishopton in the ScottishPower Regional League Cup group stages, joining them in the knockout rounds.
Harmony Row, initially second in the group, will now enter the ScottishPower Regional League Plate along with West Park and Dumbarton.
