This isn’t the first time this group has joined forces. All four players were members of the 2025 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup team that won the gold medal. Having taken place in late November, the squad finished a perfect 5-0, and defeated Canada in the final, 21-19. Over the five matchups, Team USA held a +53 point differential against Brazil, Jamaica, Argentina, Dominican Republic, and Canada.
Christina Batastini Tabbed as Team USA 3×3 Champions Cup Head Coach
Set to coach again is Christina Batastini, who coached this AmeriCup squad last year and has quite an illustrious career. At the helm, Batastini brings enormous USA Basketball experience, and led the 2024 FIBA 3×3 National Team to a perfect 22-0 record. Having begun her career with Team USA in 2023, she boasts a 48-8 record since her hire.
Along with capturing the 2025 AmeriCup gold, she led the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup team to a 7-0 record, and captured the gold medal in 2024. Additionally, she was named coach for the 2023 and 2024 FIBA 3×3 U23 Nations League Americas Conference, leading both squads to a first place finish. With two gold medals, Batastini will coach an elite roster in March.

Shakira Austin
Austin is not new to USA Basketball, having previously attended 3×3 development camps. An integral part of the 3×3 FIBA AmeriCup squad, Austin rounded things out by averaging 5.8 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and four blocks. At 6’5″, Austin brings mostly inside presence, but can occasionally stretch the floor. Most notably, Austin scored 10 points and was a crucial late-game threat in Team USA’s opening round 21-10 victory over Brazil.
Just 25 years old, Austin had a recent breakout season with Unrivaled’s Rose BC. Familiar with the three-on-three setting, Austin is fresh off an eight-week season in Miami. Since taking over as a starter for Rose BC, her stats only improved. Through 14 games, Austin averaged 15.6 points and 8.5 rebounds, completing five double-doubles. Her size, length, strength, and versatility should be a problem for any opposing center.
Veronica Burton
Named the 2025 WNBA Most Improved Player, Burton rejoins her 2025 AmeriCup squad. An accomplished 2022 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup silver medalist, Burton additionally captured bronze as a member of the 2022 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup squad.
A native of Newton, Massachusetts, Burton averaged 4.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and four blocks in the 2025 AmeriCup. A two-way threat, Burton is built for 3×3 competition, adding 10 points on three-of-five 3-point shooting. Burton was a critical x-factor in Team USA’s 22-4 victory over Argentina in the quarterfinals.
Burton has emerged as one of the premier guards in women’s basketball, and is very much a threat on both sides of the ball. Often challenged with defending the top opposing offensive threat, she led Unrivaled with 2.1 steals per game. From a role player—to a bonafide starter—Burton has blossomed into a playmaking and defensive threat. Let’s not forget about her ability to score at all three levels and drive downhill.

Allisha Gray
It’s been an eventful year for Gray, who was recently part of a $600,000 payout as a member of the Unrivaled champion Mist BC. The runner-up to Chelsea Gray in the one-on-one tournament, she is now a member of the 2026 Champions Cup team.
Considered one of the most elite guards in women’s basketball, Gray brings size and versatility. With the ability to score from all three levels, Gray is an elite 3-point shooter, and one who isn’t afraid to pull up even when contested.
Recently named All-Unrivaled second team, Gray was notably crowned the 2025 AmeriCup MVP. Hitting the game-winning shot to secure the gold medal, the Georgia native averaged 5.0 points per game, 14 key assists, and 2.2 rebounds.
A member of the 2020 Olympic Women’s National Team, Gray is seeking her third gold medal. A two-way star, Gray is one of the most polished players on both ends of the floor. Set to bring winning and veteran experience, she brings incredible IQ and thrives in fast-paced environments and in transition.
Considered a versatile guard, Gray can defeat anyone and often leaves defenders on their own island. Plus, she’s one of the premier shot creators in all of women’s basketball. Furthermore, she was named 2025 First Team All-WNBA and finished fourth in MVP voting.
Naz Hillmon
Named the 2025 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year with the Atlanta Dream, Hillmon has raised her game to new heights. Having made her USA debut with this squad at AmeriCup last year, she averaged 5.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and finished with five key assists.
At 6’2″, Hillmon brings three-on-three experience, and most recently participated in Unrivaled’s second season. Although Laces BC fell short of winning a championship, Hillmon averaged 8.3 points, 6.9 rebounds in 14 games. Setting career-highs in the WNBA last season, she brings a mix of size that will make a difference in the frontcourt, especially on the boards. During the AmeriCup, Hillmon scored a clutch eight points, along with eight rebounds in the gold medal matchup against Canada.
Final Thoughts
This is going to be a tough team to beat, given that they already won a gold medal as a group. Gray is a dynamic scorer, and this team has the perfect blend of versatility, scoring, defense, and size. Plus, Gray and Hillmon were most recently teammates for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream. Furthermore, Gray and Burton were teammates for the Unrivaled championship squad, Mist BC.
This is truly an elite squad, and the combination of players is one that should leave teams fearful. Overall, this squad has plenty of chemistry between USA Basketball, the WNBA, and Unrivaled.
Team USA will play its first matchup against Madagascar as part of Pool A on Friday, Mar. 13 at 10:20 a.m. EDT.
