Grind Session Dallas: Evals (Part 2)

After flying back to Texas from Las Vegas and the Tarkanian Classic, I hopped in a car to Fort Worth for the Grind Session DFW stop. This is the second part of my two part series about players that stood out to me at the event.

Next up I am headed to the DISD Tournament and the Snoop Johnson Basketball Classic. But first, let’s cap off the Grind Session evals.

Photo: Ani Umana/Athlete AI

CJ Rosser, 2027 6’9 PF/SF – Southeastern Prep (FL): A true marksman with scoring chops that seamlessly translate to the higher levels.

Reese Alston, 2027 6’2 PG – 2nd Baptist (TX): This won’t be a long eval. Alston’s play from summer to now has him locked in my eyes as a top 10 player in the country.

Austin Goosby, 2026 6’6 SG – Dynamic Prep (TX): The UT-Austin has strung together two impressive outings. Versus Wasatch at The Tark Classic and vs Zephyrhills. When he’s assertive with the ball in his hands….and I don’t mean just looking to score, he’s at his best. For example, turning the corner coming off a screen and getting a paint touch, or just obtaining a paint touch period, he helps Dynamic Prep the most. When he’s in attack mode he can carve opposing teams up with his playmaking and scoring.

Ryan Hampton, 2027 SG/SF – DME Academy (FL): Ryan Hampton’s offensive game is continuing to polish. Would buy or keep your stock on this one.

Marcus Spears Jr., 2027 6’9 PF/C – Dynamic Prep (TX): Showed more patience in his half-court play. Attacked and showed soft touch on his finishes over length. He made a few degree level shots over big man Toni Bryant that required adequate balance and touch.

Martay Barnes, 2027 6’2 CG – Academy of Central Florida (FL): A pure bucket getter that’s a multi-faceted scorer. One of the best scorers in the country.

Symon Ghai, 2026 7’3 C – Academy of Central Florida (FL): A gigantic big man that’s fairly raw but he knows how to use his height to be a substantial rim protector and clean-up artist offensively.

Yale Davis, 2027 6’0 SG – Zephyrhills Academy (FL): Automatic paint toucher that finished around the rim the efficiency.

Ricards Aizpurs, 6’5 Wing – Star Alliance (Italy): The Italian guard is a well rounded offensive player with adequate craft and skill. Excelled in spot-up situations, as he plays with control due to consistently playing off two feet.

Jaxon Richardson might be the BOUNCIEST high school hooper in the country! 🤯🤯 @jaxrich2342 pic.twitter.com/T8WPTzhEGQ

Jaxon Richardson, 2026 6’6 SF – Southeastern Prep (FL): I don’t think there have been 10 players that have had a better senior season than Jaxon Richardson. A freakish athletic wing that is starting to make open threes. I think he has tremendous upside and is putting up big-time boxscore stats.

Beckham Black, 2027 6’3 PG – Southeastern Prep (FL): Another short eval with this one. Arguably the best player in the country. More in depth eval on this topic HERE.

Jordan Charles, 2026 6’3 PG – Bella Vista Grind Session (AZ): Bucket getting extraordinaire that UC Santa Barbara may have gotten a steal on.

Joseph Hartman, 2026 6’5 SG – The Rock School (FL): A strong, scoring wing that possesses a high basketball IQ. The Michigan signee constructed multiple high scoring outings at the Dallas Grind Session stop.
