DiJonai Carrington recently shared her feelings of grief with her fans. The Phoenix Mercury star has had a difficult offseason, but she is facing it head-on and has decided to open up about her emotions to help navigate through challenging times.
On a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, Carrington expressed her thoughts on dealing with grief, saying:
“Grief is so hard. It’s like everytime I think I’m ok, I’m not. No matter how much u did, u still lay up every night thinkin bout what else u shoulda told em, what more u coulda done, n times u wish u woulda went to see em but jus kno there’s nothin u can do to change any of it.”
Carrington shared these sentiments following the passing of her grandfather, who was a huge supporter of hers and would attend her games in his team gear.
Despite her current grief, Carrington is set to return to the court to play in the 3×3 basketball league, Unrivaled. She will be part of Mist BC alongside other notable players. Mist BC is scheduled to play in the opening game of the inaugural Unrivaled season on Jan. 17.
