CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini alum Camille Hobby has signed a professional contract with Greece’s PAOK Thessaloniki (A1) club to continue her basketball career. The 6’3″ center played her fifth season of collegiate competition at Illinois following a four-year span at NC State.
Hobby graduated from Illinois in May 2024 with a master’s degree in recreation, sport, and tourism. She earned her undergraduate degree in sport management from NC State in December 2022. Hobby was honored by College Sports Communicators (CSC) as an Academic All-District selection.
During her season with the Illini, Hobby helped the Orange and Blue win the inaugural WBIT Championship. The Jacksonville, Florida, native averaged 9.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 0.4 blocks, and 0.3 assists per game while appearing in all 34 games and earning 22 starts. She shot 52.7% (129-for-245) from the field, 30.0% (3-for-10) from 3-point range, and 84.4% (54-for-64) from the free-throw line during the 2023-24 campaign.
Hobby delivered numerous career-best season marks during her campaign at Illinois, including 129 made field goals, 52.7% field-goal percentage, 84.4% free-throw percentage, 65 offensive rebounds, 100 defensive rebounds, 165 total rebounds, 4.9 rebounds per game, 23 steals, 315 points, and 9.3 points per game.
