As the fall marathon season comes to a close, many of us are transitioning into a period of recovery leading up to the holiday season. Although my major races are over, my relaxation is not yet in full swing as I prepare for the return of Hyrox to Chicago this weekend.
During this marathon season, I have been relying on Extreme Endurance for recovery assistance and am increasing my dosage this week as my body recovers from a challenging 10K race and the hilly terrain of the Madison Marathon. I first learned about Extreme Endurance on Instagram and was immediately drawn to its recovery benefits.

This week, I am focusing on recovery and hydration in preparation for the Hyrox race on Saturday at 5pm. This event is a grueling fitness competition with 8 functional fitness moves interspersed with 1KM runs. Athletes are grouped by gender and age and start in a chute where a Hyrox team member goes over the rules and gets everyone hyped up.
The course starts with a 1KM run, followed by various challenging exercises like the SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jump, rowing, kettlebell farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls, each separated by another 1KM run.
Despite the tough nature of this competition and my body not being in peak condition after the marathon season, I am leaning on Extreme Endurance to aid in quick recovery and enhance my performance. The product has also been shown to support long Covid recovery in a study conducted by Dr. Robin McNelis, an Independent Chartered Physiotherapist and Health Coach.
