Milwaukee is one of several markets with a group putting together a proposal for a WNBA expansion team, giving local basketball fans some optimism that the increasingly popular league could provide yet another pro-sports team in the city.
The Milwaukee Does played in the city from 1979-80, though it was a short-lived stay. The Milwaukee Aces semi-professional team formed in 2014 but shut down in 2020.
