Iga Swiatek lights up US Open with new On The Roger Pro 2 colorway

Iga Swiatek kicked off her 2025 US Open on Tuesday, stepping onto Arthur Ashe Stadium in the On The Roger Pro 2, rather than the brand-new Fire model, but in a striking new pink/flame colorway that lit up her black-and-white ensemble.

The Roger Pro 2 has been Swiatek’s trusted performance shoe, built for all-court agility and speed. Lightweight and responsive, it provides the cushioning and flexibility she relies on to slide into shots and change direction seamlessly on hard courts. The pink/flame update brings a bold new aesthetic without changing the proven performance features she favors.

Meanwhile, On recently unveiled the Roger Pro Fire, a shoe designed with even greater durability and stability in mind. Compared to the Pro 2, the Fire introduces a reinforced upper for added protection, a reengineered lacing system, and a revamped bottom unit with On’s latest Speedboard propulsion plate — innovations tailored for aggressive movers and hard-court sliders.

“Where The Roger Pro 2 was designed for more all-court play and agility, we focused on dialing up the durability and stability on the Pro Fire for aggressive lateral movements and sliding,” Edwin Janes of On tennis product strategy told Forbes.

When it comes to apparel, Swiatek’s On Fall Court Tank offered full coverage with an asymmetrical color-block pattern and crew neckline, combining black and white with subtle pink fades. She paired it with a white skirt distinguished by asymmetrical front pleats.

Fashion aside, the world No. 2 made a commanding start to her title bid. The Pole dismissed Colombia’s Emiliana Arango 6-1 6-2, barely breaking a sweat as she began her quest for a second US Open crown.

Fresh off her breakthrough Wimbledon victory last month, Swiatek entered New York as a dark horse. Already a six-time Grand Slam winner, she carried momentum from her recent triumph at the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati, where she sharpened her game ahead of the year’s final major.

Her busy schedule didn’t end there. On Wednesday, she teamed up with Casper Ruud in the US Open’s revamped mixed doubles competition. The duo battled their way to the final before falling just short against defending champions and seasoned doubles experts Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
