“I challenge you to engage in that exchange within the first 10 seconds of the fight, and you will see the outcome,” Topuria boldly stated to Holloway during an interview with ESPN. “When facing a technically skilled and powerful fighter like me, you can’t afford to trade like that. I will knock your head off in the first ten seconds.”
Commenting on Holloway’s previous fight with Gaethje, Topuria expressed his disappointment in the lack of technique and strategy, referring to it as a “bar fight” that lacked professionalism despite being entertaining for fans.
