Sophie Cunningham was one of the most popular players in the WNBA last season. The Fever guard’s move to Indiana from Phoenix has paid huge dividends for her career as she has been able to grow her brand, and make a name for herself.

Cuinningham played a key role for the Fever last season. She stepped up when the team needed her the most, and assumed a starting guard position. However, in August, she tore her MCL in a 99-93 win against the Connecticut Sun. Since then, the Fever guard has been in rehab.

Sophie Cunningham was averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists on 46.9% shooting from the field, before getting sidelined for the rest of the season.

On Friday’s episode of the “Show me Something” podcast, Cunningham revealed that she has decided to run a marathon in Hawaii, despite battling a serious leg injury.

“I have an awesome friend out here, her name is Amy, and she does the Hawaii, there is like a honolulumarathon every year around December,” Cunningham said. (Timetsamp: 21:18)

“Hawaii is my happy place, so I was like heck yeah. But my leg is not ready for it this yea. So, I am actually doing a full marathon next year and I am trying to get Lindsey, my sister to do it too. But I think I’m mentally ill.”

Later, Cunningham revealed that her coaches and trainers are not aware of her decision to run a marathon next year.

Sophie Cunningham details her experience on “Good Morning America”

Sophie Cunningham is making the best of her offseason while recovering from her MCL injury. The Fever guard took her charm to national television as she hosted ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Monday.

In her podcast, the Fever guard detailed her experience on the show. Cunningham praised everyone involved in the show in her statement.

“It was amazing. The people there were absolutely so so nice, The hair and makeup were great,” She said. “I was there with Arby’s and it was amazing. I was eating like steak bites at like 7, 8 a.m. It was amazing.” (Timestamp: 2:34)

Later, the Fever guard and her co-host, West Wilson, delved into a brief discussion about Arby’s. Cunningham revealed that Arby’s steak nuggets have become the fast food chain’s most popular item. Next, the Fever guard revealed that she has been invited to an Arby’s outlet to check out new items that are yet to be released.
