Stephanie White has been named the new head coach of the Indiana Fever, taking over a team with star player Caitlin Clark, who was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year.
White previously coached the Connecticut Sun for two seasons, but recently parted ways with the team. She is a former standout player at Purdue and also served on the Fever coaching staff from 2011 to 2016.
White replaces Christie Sides, who led the Fever to a playoff berth last season but was let go after two seasons as head coach. Indiana is the first team in the league to fill its head coaching vacancy, with the Chicago Sky also looking to make a hire.
