Indiana Fever Make Big Caitlin Clark Announcement Before WNBA All-Star Game

The 2025 WNBA season has not gone as planned for Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark. She has dealt with multiple different injury issues and has missed a lot of time due to those injuries.

With the WNBA All-Star game happening on Saturday night, that fact can be seen by Clark being unable to play due to a groin injury that she suffered for the second time.

After missing a period of time due to the groin injury previously, she re-aggravated the injury in a win over the Connecticut Sun.

Despite being forced to miss the All-Star game, Clark still made the team. Ahead of the All-Star game, the Fever took to social media to share a big announcement regarding Clark.

They took a moment to acknowledge Clark’s second All-Star appearance in as many seasons.

“2x WNBA All-Star, Caitlin Clark,” the post read.

Not only was Clark an All-Star, she was also named the captain of her team and selected her roster. It’s too bad that she’s missing the game, but she is more than deserving of the recognition for bringing such a huge impact the league.

Throughout her second WNBA season, Clark has played in 13 of Indiana’s 23 games. She has averaged 16.5 points per game to go along with 8.8 assists, five rebounds, and 1.6 steals, while shooting 36.7 percent from the floor and knocking down 27.9 percent of her three-point attempts.

Obviously, her numbers are down from her rookie season. A big part of that is due to the missed time and inability to find and keep a rhythm due to health issues.

As a rookie, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game and shot 41.7 percent overall and 34.4 percent from the three-point line. She played in 40 games.

Hopefully, the extra rest over the All-Star break will help Clark get back to full health and on the court. The WNBA is in a better place when she’s on the floor.

Only time will tell, but the Fever are proud of their superstar. It has been a frustrating season, but there is still plenty of time for her to get healthy and for the team to start looking like the championship caliber squad they were expected to be.
