INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark had another remarkable performance, setting a new single-season record for assists in the WNBA.
The talented rookie guard scored 18 points, all in the second half, along with nine assists and eight rebounds in a close 78-74 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
At just 22 years old, Clark has amassed an impressive 321 assists in her debut season in the WNBA, surpassing the previous record of 316 held by Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun from last year. With two games remaining in the regular season against Dallas on Sunday and Washington on Thursday, Clark continues to shine for the Fever (19-19).
Selected as the top overall pick in the WNBA draft from Iowa, Clark is currently averaging 19.1 points, a league-leading 8.4 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game.
