The Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark played their second game of the 2025 WNBA season on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, the outcome was not what they had hoped to have.

Despite making a late comeback in the fourth quarter, the Fever came up one point short. They lost the game by a final score of 91-90.

Clark had another strong game. She scored 27 points to go along with 11 assists, five rebounds, and two steals, while shooting 9-for-20 from the floor and 5-for-11 from the three-point line.

Following the loss, Clark did not hold back from criticizing the WNBA officials in the game. Early on, Indiana head coach Stephanie White had to burn both of her challenges to overturn clearly incorrect calls. That left the Fever with no challenges later in the game.

While White did win both challenges, there was one in particular that took way longer than it should have. Clark was not happy with that.

“Yeah, challenges cannot take that long,” Clark said. “It ruins the flow of the game. I get it. It’s early in the year. The refs want to make the right call. We can’t sit there for 2 and a half, 3 minutes, on an obvious hit out of bounds off of them, and still not know the call…We’re just standing there. We’re waiting, and we’re waiting, and we’re waiting.”

Even though the officials may not have handled everything perfect, Indiana beat itself. Throughout the game, especially in the fourth quarter, they missed far too many free throws.

When all was said and done, the Fever shot just 16-for-26 from the foul line. Making just two more of those attempts would have won them the game.

Outside of Clark, Aliyah Boston put together an impressive performance. She scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss. Kelsey Mitchell also chipped in 24 points for Indiana.

Next up for the Fever will be a chance for revenge. Indiana will face off against the Dream once again, this time in Atlanta, on Thursday night. It’s quite possible that the Fever will have Sophie Cunningham back on the court for the first this season.

Clark and Indiana will tip off against Atlanta on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET and will look to improve to 2-1 on the season with a win.
