Sophie Cunningham played an integral role for the Indiana Fever this past season. However, this was before the 6-foot-1 guard’s season was cut short by a knee injury. Cunningham tore the MCL in her right knee in August, which required season-ending surgery. She was limited to 30 games in her debut campaign for the Fever, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.7 triples in 25.2 minutes per contest.

Off the court, the 29-year-old has been keeping busy amid the WNBA offseason. Cunningham has multiple endorsement deals with various brands, and she also hosts her own podcast, “Show Me Something,” alongside reality TV star and good friend West Wilson.

Apart from that, Cunningham also remains active with her basketball roots. On Friday, she made an exciting announcement about her latest endeavor.

Cunningham joined the Fever last offseason via a multi-team trade deal. She spent the first six years of her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury, but her tenure ended after she was traded to Indiana in February.

Since then, Cunningham’s rise to fame has been unprecedented. After a Caitlin Clark-related incident during a game against the Connecticut Sun in June, the former Missouri Tigers star became a social media sensation overnight.

Cunningham, though, isn’t forgetting about her commitment to pushing women’s basketball forward. On Friday, she took to social media to announce the details of the fourth annual Sophie Cunningham Classic.

“So, you guys know I do the Sophie Cunningham Classic every single year,” she said on her Instagram stories. “It’s a high school girls’ basketball tournament. There is a lot of top-ranked teams in the United States, a lot of top-ranked players who are going to be at this Classic, so I’m super, super excited for that.

“Also, we have a ton of new sponsors, a lot of fun gifts and opportunities there, which I’m stoked about. But tickets just became available today, and so on the next slide, go ahead and click. I’m going to post the registration link. You guys get your tickets there, and I’ll also post the schedule and all the people who are going to be in it.”

As Cunningham said in her announcement, tickets are now available for the tournament, which will take place from Jan. 9 to 11 at her hometown of Columbia, Missouri. One of the main sponsors of the event is Adidas, which is one of Cunningham’s endorsements.

The Fever star also announced that she plans to be present throughout the duration of the event.

“So, I’m excited for it,” Cunningham continued. “It’s going to be so much fun. It’s bigger and better than ever. … So, yeah, come hang out. Come see me. I’ll be around there all weekend.”

As for her basketball, Cunningham will officially become an unrestricted free agent once the window opens on Feb. 1. She will need to negotiate a contract extension with the Fever to potentially remain in Indiana for 2026 and beyond.
