Sophie Cunningham established herself as a fan-favorite with the Indiana Fever. She averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 30 games played, helping the team win the Commissioner’s Cup championship.
The veteran WNBA guard also made a name for herself as an enforcer for Indiana, making sure to protect Caitlin Clark and her teammates. For context, during a game against the Connecticut Sun in June, Cunningham committed a hard foul on Jacy Sheldon by grabbing her head and letting her fall to the court.

It came after Sheldon had poked Clark in the eye and bumped into her. The gesture made fans love Cunningham even more.
Aside from her performance on the court, Cunningham’s direct and no-nonsense attitude has earned her more fans. She has never been afraid to say what’s on her mind, which has gotten her in trouble with the WNBA on several occasions.

That straightforward attitude was on full display once again during the latest episode of her “Show Me Something” podcast with her good friend West Wilson. This time, however, it’s NFL legend Tom Brady who received some words from her.

As Cunningham and Wilson talked about how Brady cloned his beloved dog, the 29-year-old Fever sharpshooter couldn’t help but find the whole thing “weird.”
“That’s [expletive] weird,” Cunningham said without hesitation. “I don’t have a problem with him, but he does some weird [expletive]. Dude, how do you even clone a dog?”
For those unaware, the New England Patriots great revealed that his current dog, named Junie, is a clone of his previous dog, Lua, who passed away in 2023. As reported recently, Junie was cloned using blood collected from Lua prior to her death.

The cloning was done by biotech company Colossal Biosciences, in which Brady is an investor.
“I love my animals. They mean the world to me and my family,” the NFL icon said. “A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s elderly dog before she passed.”
While Brady certainly looks happy with his decision, it’s clear that Cunningham and several others aren’t fans of what he did.
