Caitlin Clark is the new WNBA single season assist leader.
In the Indiana Fever’s 78-74 loss to the Las Vegas Aces, Clark recorded nine assists, breaking Alyssa Thomas’ single season assist record of 316.
With two games left in the regular season, the Fever rookie now has 321 assists this year.
Although Clark struggled offensively in the first half, she bounced back in the second half, scoring 18 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and adding one steal.
Clark started slow but picked up her performance in the second half, leading the Fever’s comeback.
Similarly, the Fever faced challenges with Clark’s foul trouble and Aliyah Boston’s injury scare, but Kelsey Mitchell’s scoring efforts kept them in the game.
In the end, despite a strong effort from Mitchell and Boston, the Aces’ free throw shooting proved to be the difference in the game, leading them to victory.
Mitchell finished with 20 points, while Boston added 14 for the Fever, while the Aces’ Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, and A’ja Wilson contributed significantly to their team’s win.
