Taylen Kinney, a five-star point guard in the class of 2026, received a scholarship from IU basketball on Thursday.
Kinney reported the offer on his Instagram account.
The 6-foot-1 Kinney is originally from Newport, Kentucky, but played this past season in Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia. He’s playing for Wildcat Select on the adidas 3SSB circuit this spring and summer.
Kinney is rated the No. 16 player nationally and the No. 4 point guard in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite.
He has a lengthy list of scholarship offers that includes Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Creighton, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee Texas A&M and Xavier.
