INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis has been selected as the host city for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, scheduled to take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on July 19, as announced by the league on Wednesday.
This year’s All-Star Game featured a matchup between the All-Star team and the U.S. Olympic team, attracting a sellout crowd of 16,407 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. The game, which was the most-watched WNBA All-Star Game, drew a television audience of 3.44 million as the All-Stars secured a 117-109 victory on July 20.
“The city of Indianapolis and the entire state of Indiana have a deep-rooted passion for basketball, making them the ideal hosts to celebrate the WNBA and its top stars,” stated WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert.
Prior to the All-Star Game, a 3-point shooting contest and skills challenge will be held on July 18.
The Indiana Fever, led by rookie standout Caitlin Clark, have played a significant role in the WNBA’s surge in popularity this season. With an average attendance of nearly 17,000, the Fever lead the league in attendance, and their games have set numerous TV viewership records.
“We are currently experiencing a transformative moment in the history of the WNBA and women’s basketball, and we are excited that Indiana will be at the forefront of this movement with the league’s top stars showcased during next season’s All-Star Game,” said Mel Raines, CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment. “Our community leaders are prepared to welcome fans from across the nation and the world to Indiana, set new standards for future host cities, and leave a lasting impact on our city and state.”
