Indiana wing Bryson Tucker will enter the transfer portal, according to Joe Tipton.
A 2024 McDonald’s All-American, Tucker fell out of favor in the rotation late in the season and did not play after IU’s 72-68 loss against UCLA on February 14.
Tucker averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game. He shot 37.8 percent from the field and 15 percent on 3-pointers.
His best performance in an IU uniform came against Minnesota on December 9, when he scored 16 points in 20 minutes. Tucker scored 14 points in a 69-58 win against UNC Greensboro on November 21 and 12 points in a 90-55 win against Eastern Illinois on November 10.
Tucker shot 26-for-36 (72.2 percent) from the free throw line and 45-for-107 (42.1 percent) on 2s. According to KenPom.com, his offensive rating of 92.8 was the second-lowest on the roster among rotation regulars.
A product of Bishop O’Connell High School, Tucker was the No. 21 player nationally in the 2024 class, according to the 247Composite.
He was the lone player in Mike Woodson’s 2024 high school recruiting class, joining the program after Liam McNeeley chose to reopen his recruitment last spring.
He is the seventh IU player to enter the transfer portal this spring, joining Gabe Cupps, Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako, Jakai Newton, Myles Rice and Kanaan Carlyle.
The 6-foot-7 forward has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
