Bobby Miller was unable to make his scheduled start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday night. According to Jack Harris of the LA Times, the team is taking a cautious approach with Miller after he experienced some tightness in his adductor following a recent bullpen session.
Earlier this season, Miller spent more than two months on the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. After making four rehab starts, he struggled upon returning to Los Angeles and was sent down to Triple-A.
Throughout his four starts in Triple-A this season, Miller has struggled, maintaining a 5.71 ERA with only 11 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. This recent setback adds to what has been a disappointing second season in the Major Leagues for him.
In his impressive rookie season in 2023, Miller went 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA in 22 starts. However, in 2024, he has had a rough start, going 1-2 with an 8.07 ERA in just seven starts. Miller may have the opportunity to return to the Dodgers later this month or in September, but he must first focus on regaining his health and pitching to his full potential.
