Associate (Intern) – Baseball Systems
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Position Summary: As part of the Baseball Systems department, this role will collaborate closely with the Data Engineering and Software Engineering teams to improve existing tools and processes, as well as develop new ones using technologies that bridge multiple engineering disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Investigate and address data quality concerns identified by users related to game statistics, scouting reports, and transactions.
– Load new datasets from vendors into internal databases and ensure data accessibility for users.
– Develop user interface (UI) components using front-end technologies to create a user-friendly design.
Qualifications:
– Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, Javascript-based frameworks, and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
– Experience with SQL, including query writing and maintenance.
– Familiarity with relational databases like SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
– Knowledge of advanced statistical baseball concepts, including advanced statistics and player evaluation metrics.
