The anticipation is building for Caitlin Clark’s second season in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever—especially after her tremendous rookie season, which resulted in her being named a WNBA All-Star, winning Rookie of the Year, and leading Indiana to the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Now, after an offseason away from basketball to an extent, the season is less than a month away, with the regular season set to begin on May 17. However, preseason starts in roughly two weeks, and Clark will be making a major return to Iowa City when the Fever play one of their preseason games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, where she had one of the most historic collegiate careers of all time.

She had her number retired this winter, and ahead of her return to the arena, Iowa Basketball made a key announcement regarding the game on Friday.

“TIME CHANGE,” Iowa posted. “We’re tipping off at 3 p.m. CT on May 4th in Iowa City!”

Clark and the Fever will face off against the Brazilian National Team in a preseason matchup that is already labeled as a sellout—an impressive testament to the lasting impact Clark has had on the city of Iowa City over her four years with the program.

She became the all-time leading scorer in Division I history—across both the men’s and women’s sides. While a national championship eluded her, she led Iowa to back-to-back Final Four appearances and two trips to the national title game. Clark was also a two-time Wooden Award winner, given to the National Player of the Year.

She’s carried that success into the WNBA, and now, as she heads into her second season, she’ll be looking to take the next step in her already remarkable career.
