Ipswich Town have confirmed their first women’s game at Portman Road this year, as they play a league match at the men’s ground for just the third time.
The WSL2 side played their first game at Portman Road in 2024, with 10,000 fans in attendance as the Blues hammered Chatham Town 5-0.
Last year the tradition was carried forward and again Ipswich won with an impressive 3-1 performance against Plymouth.
Ipswich will play Southampton at Portman Road on Saturday 28th March in the early kick off at 12:30.

This year’s game feels more important for the Tractor Girls, who are currently rock bottom of the Championship after 13 games.
Ipswich play Portsmouth this weekend in a huge game at the bottom of the table. A win for Town would take them above their relegation rivals up to 10th.
Times have been tough for Ipswich in 2026, as they parted company with manager Joe Sheehan to start the year. Former Blue, David Wright, is currently in charge of the club on an interim basis.
Not everything has been bad for the Championship side this year however.
Ipswich were one of the busiest WSL2 teams during the January transfer window, signing eight players to their squad.
Nelly Las joined on transfer deadline day and she was followed by Lysianne Proulx and Princess Ademiluyi who completed last minute deals.
Mark Ashton: Ipswich looking to break records at Portman Road
Speaking after the Portman road announcement, Ipswich CEO Mark Ashton said: “We are really excited to announce that Ipswich Town Women will return to Portman Road again this season.
“Our past two women’s team fixtures here have been a great success, with crowds of more than 10,000 watching the girls beat Chatham Town and Plymouth Argyle.
“We hope to see the supporters turn out in their numbers once again as we aim for another record-breaking day at Portman Road.”
With Ipswich struggling to stay in the second division large crowds are expected at Portman Road in March as the fans get behind their club.
